SS EFW Pipes

Stainless Steel EFW (Electric Fusion Welded) Pipes

Overview

This specification covers electric-fusion-welded austentic chromium-nickel stainless steel pipes suitable for corrosive or high-temperature services, or both, or for general applications. The pipes come in five different welding classes. Crizal Tube manufactures range of electric fusion welded pipes in different sizes and standards. EFW pipes is either tubular section, hollow cylinder or hollow section. EFW pipes are formed by rolling plate and welding the seam. Efw pipe is generally manufactured to one of several international standards. Many industrial and government standards exist for the production of EFW pipes. We are Importers, Exporters, Stockist & Suppliers of Copper, Brass, Aluminium, Bronze, Gunmetal, Zinc, Lead etc. in form of Bar, Wire, PVC Coated Copper Coil, Coils, Round, Sheets, Plates, Channel, Angle, Pipes etc.
Welding process employed by us involves GTAW (gas-tungsten-arc-welding) for root-pass and SAW / TIG for final pass with suitable filler wire as prescribed by AWS specification and ASME boiler and pressure vessel code.
EFW pipes manufactured by us are tested for chemical, physical and hydrostatic tests.
Crizal Tube is a well-known manufacturer and exporter of ASTM A358 stainless steel pipes, we are committed to provide each and every customer with the highest standard of customer service.

Plant Installation

Crizal tube’s EFW pipe manufacturing unit based in Mumbai consists of, 1500 MT ‘C’ type press brake, 500MT ‘H’ type press for pre-weld and size calibration, inside and outside welding systems, solution annealing heat treatment furnace and fibre tank for HF pickling process, all having production capacity of approximately 2000 MT annually.
We can manufacture pipes upto 15 mtrs long.

Manufacturing Process

  • Manufacturing process of EFW pipes begins with sourcing the best quality of raw material i.e sheet or coil in our case it is mainly from Jindal Stainless Ltd.
  • Coils are then sent for slitting or cut to length process as per required size
  • Slitted plates are forwarded for pre-punch and forming process
  • Formed pipes are forwarded for ‘V’ grind and pre-weld
  • Pre-welded pipes are forwarded to welding facility
  • Pipes are then forwarded for welding test
  • After the welding test pipes are forwarded for size calibration
  • If the requirement is of hollow section the pipes are then forwarded for cold draw round to hollow process machine
  • Pipes are then finished as per requirement packed and shipped

Difference in welding class

  • Class 1 – pipes are double welded by using filler metal in all pass and completely radiographed
  • Class 2 – pipes are double welded by using filler metal in all pass with no radiography
  • Class 3 – pipes are single welded with or without radiography.
  • Class 4 – pipes are single welded however weld pass of class 4 exposed to the inside pipe surface may be without filler metal addition.
  • Class 5 – are double welded using filler metal and is spot radiographed.
